My name is David Luria, president of Peregrine Franchise Partners. My diverse background in both family businesses and corporate America provides me with a unique perspective to guide aspiring entrepreneurs towards successful franchise ownership.

I have worked in corporate America for over 20 years, primarily in financial services, technology, and sustainability. Throughout my career as a vice-president, director, and program manager, I have facilitated more than $20 million in procurement deals and managed over $200 million in projects.

From my early days helping in my family’s various small businesses to working for Fortune 500 companies, I have gained invaluable insights into what makes businesses thrive. This experience–combined with my own investment businesses–allows me to understand the challenges and rewards of business ownership intimately.

I also understand what it means to be given a second chance.

Recently, I was diagnosed with Stage IVB cancer. It went undetected until it was almost too late. I was in a coma for two weeks. The doctors told my wife I had just a couple of days to live, and the kids had to come say goodbye to my lifeless body with tubes sticking out everywhere. But once the biopsy revealed the diagnosis, treatment began and I rallied. I lost 65 pounds. I had to learn to walk again. I was in the hospital for four months but I have been in remission ever since. I am grateful for every day now.

I am married to my amazing partner, Anita. She saved my life in the hospital more than once. We have two grown children who are finding their way in this world, just like the rest us.
